The Marketing and Events Manager works closely with and reports directly to the Creative Director. You will together as a team to ensure that Creative & Marketing Department is a contributing factor to the overall success of SPiN. You will be responsible for social media content creation and consumer response, assisting in all aspects of the evolution of our brand voice. You will manage the marketing calendar to effectively plan marketing activities, and act as the liaison between in-house departments and our PR firm to ensure marketing initiatives are known and planned for with ample time. You will ensure that all marketing materials are produced to our standards and properly represent the brand. You will coordinate in-house programs, and handle additional projects as they arise.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Copywriting for all social channels including the email newsletter
- Manage social channels including response, re tweeting, reposting. Grow our user base within each channel
- Execute tactics to drive new business through social media such as ‘search and respond’
- Ensure website content reflects current marketing and programming initiatives and the calendar (on the SPiN website) is up to date with several months’ worth of upcoming events
- Manage the marketing calendar to effectively plan for execution of activities including social media, website updates, email newsletter, off site events and promotional appearances; in-house programming and events, and in-house posters and calendar updates.
- Coordinate with our PR agency for upcoming events, communication of marketing plan and media inquiries.
- Facilitate communication between departments for upcoming events and initiatives
- Ensure that all marketing materials approved by the Creative Director are produced with a consistent look and feel. Work with outside designers to coordinate and manage projects, including briefing, timelines and budget management. Report to Creative Director for communication, content, design direction, and approval on final materials.
- Manage the monthly promotional calendar, and coordinate with managers on staffing, timing & execution of all in-house programs
- Track and manage success metrics for programs and provide ideas to improve them both in terms of consumer participation and overall execution
- Organize run and direct the Dirty Dozen, supervised by Creative Director – which includes hiring and finding new talent for the show
- Collaborate with Creative Director to create and execute of one BIG event a month
- Act as the point of contact between brand, client, celebrity and operational team for bigger events
- Idea generation for marketing campaigns
- Copywriting
- Coordination of and communication with off-site printers
- Budget management for shows and events
- Process improvements and management
- Support in the development of various marketing systems for SPiN
- Event listing management
- Provide weekly recaps to Creative Director
Desired Skills/Experience
- 2-4 years’ experience in paid special events, marketing and/or website management role.
- Evidence of successful event, sponsorship, marketing, public relations programs required
- 4 year college degree in a relevant course of study preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Experience successfully managing budgets
- Self- starter who takes initiative

- Able to multi-task and work under pressure
- Willing to work a varied schedule, including nights and/or weekends as events require
